Privacy policy

Last updated: September 17, 2026

This policy explains which personal data dix.tax processes, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  1. Who is responsible

The operator named in the legal notice is responsible for data processing on this website. For any question about your data, write to the email address given there.

    Legal notice

  2. The calculator: your figures stay in your browser

Everything you type into a calculator is processed in your browser. It is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device, so that your entries are still there when you come back. These figures are not sent to us and we cannot see them.

You can delete them at any time with the button below the calculator or by clearing your browser's site data.

  3. When you leave your email address

If you use a form to tell us which tax form you need, we receive your email address, the form you chose, the language of the page and whatever you wrote in the text field. This reaches us as an email in our own mailbox.

We use it only to answer you and to tell you when the form you asked about is ready. We do not send newsletters and we do not pass your address on. We delete it when you ask us to, and at the latest two years after your message.

If you ask to be reminded before a deadline, we keep your address and that date for the one message we promised, and delete them afterwards unless you tell us to keep you on the list.

Our mailboxes are provided by Migadu-Mail GmbH, a Swiss company whose mail servers are located in France.

  4. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., USA. When you open a page, Vercel processes technical data that your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser type. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably.

This data may be processed in the USA and other countries. Vercel is bound by contractual data protection guarantees, including the standard contractual clauses recognised by Switzerland and the EU.

  5. Cookies, fonts and tracking

We use one functional cookie that remembers your language. It contains no personal information and needs no consent.

We measure how the site is used with PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). It runs without cookies and stores nothing on your device. We count page views and a few events: that a calculation was started or completed, for which country, type of property and kind of use, and whether the sheet was printed or a form was sent. Amounts, addresses and anything else you type are never included. Session recording is switched off, no profile of you is built, and your browser's Do Not Track setting is respected.

We use no advertising and no tracking across other websites. Fonts are delivered from our own server, so opening the site does not contact font services such as Google Fonts.

  6. Legal basis

Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of your consent when you send us a form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.

  7. Your rights

You have the right to know which data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a common format. To use these rights, write to the address in the legal notice. We answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you live in the EU or EEA, you can turn to the data protection authority of your country.

  8. Changes to this policy

When the website changes, for example when accounts or payment are added, we update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version.
